I have a 2 year old dog and I want to train him not to jump on people when they come to my house. He knows all the commands like sit and stay but when someone other than my parents or myself are at my house he gets overly excited, he is a cocker spainel so he “happy pees” when he meets someone new, I would just like to teach him how to be a Good Boy around new people. Any suggestions?

Instead of pushing him away put your knee up when he jumps and say down. When you push him, he sees this as attention.

I have a Treeing Walker Coonhound about 5 months old. We gave her table scraps one time which was a bad idea. How can we train her not to jump up on us while we eat? her nails are sharp and sometimes she accidently scratches us trying to jump up.
she already knows down and stay. She just refuses to do it when we say it.

Put her outside, in a crate or another room while you eat. (with her own food)

I have a 3 mos old German Shepherd Puppy have trained to sit, stay, come, go to kennel etc, but do you have any ideas on how to train him not to jump up on people besides telling me to buy a German Shepherd training book?
I am looking for specific ideas that worked for you.

The way German Shepherd trainers to it is to have a choke chain collar on with lead attached, and the German Shepherd gets jerked down and reprimanded every time. If you trained it to do the rest of that stuff, you can train it not to jump up.

Danne is a young German Shepherd training for a jump indication in her search and rescue life. There are 3 short videos rolled into1 here, to demonstrate slight differences. 1st, the subject is in-sight. 2nd, the subject pops into the woods. 3rd, new subject in her session. She does perfectly, never hesitating, and always giving a clean JUMP.
