Crate training puppy in home with adult dogs?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by Janice B: Crate training German Shepherd puppy in home with adult German Shepherds?
Hi there, we have two adult German Shepherds and will be adding a German Shepherd puppy to the family. The older German Shepherds were both crate trained, but due to lack of space once they were about a year an a half we had to allow them free roam of the house (no problems)
We want to crate train the German Shepherd puppy, but three crates just does not work for us. How difficult will this be to crate train the German Shepherd puppy with the other two running free?

It should be fine. I crate trained my German Shepherds and added a German Shepherd puppy not long ago and crate trained him. He did just fine.

Question: Can dogs see good or bad spirits?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by Greg R: Can German Shepherds see good or bad spirits?
My 6 month old Boston Terrier woke up at 3:23 am last night, stood on my chest and barked at the closed door, he then rat toward the door barking and growling. He sat and stared at the door for a minute. I called him back to bed and he slowly backed up and cane back to bed.
He’s never done this before, and has never barked before. I was shocked, he is such a calm and not caring puppy.

Has the Cesar Millan Method of training dogs worked for you and your dog?
Posted by: | CommentsQuestion by lucyjive: Has the Cesar Millan Method of training German Shepherds worked for you and your German Shepherd?
I just adopted a rescue German Shepherd. He kind of just fell into my lap and I have no idea what I am doing. He is a great German Shepherd and is picking up on being a house German Shepherd really well. He is very smart but after teaching him to sit I have no Idea how to teach him anything else. He has a few minor behavior problems (leash pulling) that I would like to correct and I need a method to stick to and be consistent with. Any advice would be great. Thanks

I think you’d be better off enlisting the help of a good trainer or behaviourist rather than attempting to use Cesar’s techniques yourself (especially since the disclaimer on his show states that you should consult a professional). He is an entertainer as well as a trainer, and he works on German Shepherds with extreme behavioural issues. I think you just need someone who can help you with basic obedience.

Tips for House and Potty Training of Dogs – Free Dog Training Tips to Make Your Dog Well-Mannered
For a good and healthy human and German Shepherd relationship, German Shepherd training is a must, as it is through the process of training that a German Shepherd can be taught the mannerisms it requires to have, to move around in society. But what is German Shepherd training and how is it useful for the German Shepherd? Here are some free German Shepherd training tips that give you an answer. Training German Shepherds involves clicker training, marker training, reward training, collar and leash, positive reinforcement, German Shepherd whispering, obedience training for German Shepherds, etc. Dogs are not perfect; well no one is, and they keep doing certain things that may not be acceptable, especially when they are moving around with humans, their masters. These behaviors include chewing, digging, jumping, begging, biting and barking unnecessarily. So, training German Shepherds not to bite and training German Shepherds not to bark is equally important. Here are some German Shepherd training tips for free, they will certainly help you change the behavior of your German Shepherd.
Free Tips for Dog Training
The sole purpose of German Shepherd training is to make your German Shepherd well-mannered. Following are the tips that must be followed without fail during the training sessions for German Shepherds:
At the initial stage, do not over burden the German Shepherd with many commands as they might become frustrating and confusing for their little brains. Always remember to respect the behavior of your German Shepherd and plan your training accordingly. Never give a command for the activity that the German Shepherd can avoid.
You must always praise the German Shepherd for his good behavior and performance and reward him immediately so that he can associate the reward and the behavior. Make use of German Shepherd treats for this. This acts as a booster for the German Shepherd to follow your instructions religiously. This practice should be followed as it helps develop an amicable relation between the German Shepherd trainer and the trainee German Shepherd.
During the process of training, never ever punish the German Shepherd. Always focus on praising the behavioral change in the pet.
Penalize the German Shepherd for his misbehavior. Keep in mind that penalizing and punishing are two different things. Penalty means forcing the German Shepherd to do the thing that he dislikes like leash jerk or ignoring him to make him realize his mistake. These free German Shepherd training tips will definitely help you train your German Shepherd in the way you want to.
Free Dog House Training Tips
The house training is a must for a German Shepherd to make him used to the outdoors and indoors. Crate training is the basic method of training the German Shepherd. The German Shepherd pup must be kept in a crate for a short period in a day. If the German Shepherd pup wants to defecate, take him outdoors. Teach him to defecate either in a yard or in a sandbox, if you do not have a yard. You could even use these German Shepherd Puppy potty training tips for that. Some German Shepherds jump at their loved ones in over-excitement. It is all right with small German Shepherds, but large German Shepherds might injure themselves or the person they jump on. So, to get rid of this German Shepherd behavior ignore the German Shepherd instead of shouting and screaming at it. These tips on house training a German Shepherd Puppy might prove useful. For the meal time, create a separate meal area for the German Shepherd. Make him understand the right time for meals and make sure you stick to that timing. Always remember, never overfeed the German Shepherd. The most enjoyable training is German Shepherd leash training for both the trainer as well as the German Shepherd, as it ensures a safe and enjoyable stroll with your pet. If you clearly understand how to train a German Shepherd, and follow these free German Shepherd training tips religiously, you will observe a gradual change in the behavior of your German Shepherd, a change for the better.
Free Dog Potty Training Tips
Now we come to the potty training tips. Potty training German Shepherds requires you to be patient and give your German Shepherd some time to learn. This training should be given at the German Shepherd Puppy stage itself. For potty training older German Shepherds, you need to understand its nature and behavior. The most important thing to be considered during this training is the ‘in’ and ‘out’ timings. Usually, they should be taken out after fifteen to twenty minutes of their meal. Use a potty if you plan to let the German Shepherd poop indoors. Again don’t punish your German Shepherd too hard for pooping at the wrong place; and don’t forget to reward him for its little acts of good behavior.
So, these are some of the essential free German Shepherd training tips that will help you give the basic training to your German Shepherd. So go ahead and make your German Shepherd a ‘gentleman’. You can even get many free German Shepherd training tips online. With the use of German Shepherd training tools available today German Shepherd training can be made easy. But the most important thing about training a German Shepherd is you give it your time and treat it with affection and care. That’s my German Shepherd training advice to you.
