Giant German Shepherd puppy Abe at 9.5 months of age, son of Ash and Rayne. He’s almost as large as his father already and it’s hard to think of him as a puppy due to his size. Please don’t mind the spliced clips, the camera can only record at small intervals.Pioneer German Shepherds breeds sweet-tempered plush and long coat (long haired) German Shepherd Dogs that are oversized with a laidback temperament. Please note that our dogs are NOT Shiloh Shepherds but are distantly related, with larger size and less angulation than most GSD. Nor are they King Shepherds, however they are above average in size (some say king sized) with a large-boned structure. However, all are AKC German Shepherd Dogs. Puppies are whelped indoors and raised underfoot in our home with lots of love, occasionally available to select companion homes. @LongcoatGSD…….I’ve been around longcoat GSD’s since long before SV lifted the restriction against them, and I own one that just completed his SchH3 trials. It strikes me that you are using your own definition of “longcoat”. I sincerely applaud and appreciate your efforts to restore the breed to the way they were before they were almost destroyed by the AKC, but I think you should adjust your definition to what a longcoat actually is, rather than what you would like it to be.
@young95 Again, incorrect. See previous statement at Ash’s link for comment, and also, the puppy depicted is only 9 months old, a long coat pup will not have an adult length at that age.
As with your other dog Ash, he may be a Plush coat. But ABSOLUTELY NO WAY WHATSOEVER IS HE A LONG COAT. Long coats are very distinctive in not only the longer length of their main coat, but also in the long fringes behind the forelegs, the haunches, their bellies, and their tails. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A LONG COAT, and you should stop mis-representing your dogs in that way.

Idk how the dogs are geneticlly but i would have to agree the shepherd in this video does seem to have a problem of some kind or its just too big. but it is a beautiful dog no dought.

i visited your site.Your German Shepherd are out of standarts.This young boy on the video has a very nice head but the rest is not that good.He might have a problem with his hip joints.
This is not a giant german shepherd… we have regular german shepherds that are just as big and have had bigger, but they were not the “giants” either. A healthy GSD should be about this size at 7-10 months.
Is it just me or does he seem a little lethargic?
Longhaired GSDs always look larger especially when shown with a small person. Show this puppy with a grown man about 6′ 180 lbs for a good comparison. My shorthair GSD female Layla at 10 mos. weighed over 100 lbs. She looks huge compared to my wife at 5’4” 135 lbs. About normal compared to me at 6′ 195 lbs. Great dogs GSDs super smart and with proper socializing can be taken most anywhere without complaint. I go to music stores and pet shops all the time with Layla. Always told very welcome.

It’s exactly like my “shepherd”. Mine though is too old and it has one day that it can’t walk. I’m a little bit sad for that. Love it as much as you can. German Shepherd dogs are a gift to mankind.
