Why does my dog ignore me when outside but is the most obedient dog inside?
ByQuestion by Dana: Why does my dog ignore me when outside but is the most obedient dog inside?
My 3 year old lab ignores me when we go outside. She use to listen to me outside when we lived in florida and never needed to be on a leash. but since we’ve moved to washington she just ignores me when outside. why is that? and what can i do to make her listen when outside?

More distractions, sounds, smells etc. You need to do the same training leash training outside that she obeys inside
What do you think? Answer below!
Training a German Shepherd Dog
FurFur, the Shih tzu, wants to show that he still has more skills than his feline counterparts. First, he “waves hello” and then “stands” up to “bow” to the audience, demonstrating how cultured he is. Then, he “lies down,” “stays” for a bit, and “crawls” to his final destination, where he “rolls over” x2, plays dead with a “bang,” and ends by clearing his throat to “speak.” Join FurFur at SweetFurr.blogspot.com for more information.

Her new world is just full of sights, sounds and scents that are new and unique. Also, although dogs can discriminate training incredibly well, the do not generalize nearly so handily. That is why a dog who responds very well to cues indoors seems to ignore them while outside. The environment is a much a cue to the behavior as is the word.
For now, you should keep her on lead while outside, and start reviewing her ‘recall’ training just as you did when she was a puppy. Use lots of high-value rewards and you’ll soon convince her that coming when called is much more fun that exploring whatever scent has happened to grab her by the nose.
Well, I guess since you moved to a different place, your dog needs to adapt to that place. Maybe he/she is just not used to being in that environment (depends if it changed or not). He/she just needs to get used to where he/she is living now.
That’s just my opinion.
um…..because it feels free outside to do what he wants
It’s because you moved and you are not in a new enviroment, new sites, sounds etc.
So put the leash back on and go over all her training that she alreadys knows. (basicly you are training her all over again) She will fall back into step after sometime.
aww my shih-tzu sneezes before she speaks hhahah
