Question: When can I start grooming my puppy?
ByQuestion by Amanda: When can I start grooming my puppy?
I have a Pomeranian puppy. She is 6 months old and the heat is just to much for her. She is very thick and I want to get rid of most of her hair. I am afraid that if I shave her her hair will not grow back that same way. I do not keep up on the fancy Pomeranian cuts but would not like a bald German Shepherd. I just need to know how soon I can shave her down.

You can shave her whenever you want to shave her. When you choose to have it done isn’t going to change the fact that you’re removing length. The hair may not grow back exactly the same, but if you live in a hot climate, she’s not going to need her longer coat for very long. As long as she’s had all her vaccines clinics should be ok with grooming her also.
when i grows hair and can go WOOF!!!
You can also scissor trim her so that the length is taken off but she still looks cute. Many groomers call this a puppy trim or a suburban trim. The hair is usually left 1-2 1/2 inches long so she doesn’t look.bald. Find a good groomer who still does scissor trims or knows how to use snap on combs. If you shave her to the skin the guard hairs (course hair) will take a along time to grow back. Scissor trimming doesn’t ruin the coat like a total shave down might. This can be done anytime. In fact most good groomers like to start puppies younger then 6 months because they are usually not matted and the grooming experience is usually more pleasant for all parties involved.
Go To A Groomer And Have Them Thin It She will Still Have The Nice Hair But It Wont Be As Much Of A Problem That’s What I Have to Do But It Doesn’t Matter On There Age Really Just Make Sure She Is Pretty Well Trained I Really Wouldn’t Do It yourself
